Poem: Downtown Saint C

That’s some sad shit I see
In downtown Saint C
To have or have not
Walk by without a thought
Complain sunglasses that don’t fit
Homeless and hurting another will sit
Hipsters and hoodlums walk the beat
Stains on sidewalks in dirty heat
Stare at your phones and nothing you see
Will ever enlighten the apathy
Best deals in town are now to be had
Have not a worry for others gone bad
Sit on the patio and drink a beer
While others are thirsty and full of fear
Too many dollars and still no coins
In chasing paper, everyone joins
Some with too little, others too much
Be hip and trendy, but please don’t touch
These are the sad thing each day that I see
In day and in dusk in downtown Saint C
