Poem: First Snowfall

The world has turned to milky white
Gleaming ground glows in the night
Flakes that fall all around
Laying blank veil upon the ground
Air is cold and damp and dark
Grass beneath white-covered park
Roads are slick and wet from snow
Lonely cars to homes they race to go
I walk alone down buried walk
As flakes cover each leaf and rock
Chill that sinks into the bone
First snowfall, I walk through alone
