Poem: May Day Night

Some quiet time
Walk alone
Smoking
Down some cracked sidewalk
On this empty main street
Tucked behind
The walls of sleep
To a darkened path
Away from the bridge
Weird ghostly lights
Glow faintly at the top
Beneath its long white veil
I briskly proceed
Down dim-lit corridor
Music in ear buds
Over crumbling aqueduct
Up to hill
Finding my path home
Blinking beacon street lamp
Tells me the way
And the journey ends
