Poem: I’ll Always Be Horrible

I’ll always be horrible
There’s no ray of sunshine inside me
I may enjoy beauty
But it only leaves me jaded

I’ll not always be happy
I would find some dissatisfaction
Because to every silver lining
There may still be a cloud
The sunlight is diffused and gray
Even though it’s still bright

I’ll tell you all the reasons why I can’t
All my evils and past misdeeds
I can give you a confessional
Would it make a difference?
The birds will still sing
And I will still sting

Their opinions don’t matter
It only keeps me insulated
I’ll find no peace in apathy
I’ll find no solace in satisfaction
I’ll find no love from the loveless
The universe is indifferent
But beautiful on my own
