Poem: The Universe is Indifferent

The night is empty
In soft TV glow
Replicating instant security
With soft hum and warm light
It doesn’t matter
If the images
Are uncomfortable
Lost in the drama
Forget the cold
Forget the world
Melt into the surroundings
Camouflaged into furnishings
Hidden in shadows
Only my face exposed
But my mind racing and blank
I’m still empty
Just like these long lonely hours
That I hide myself
There is no connection
No facade
No light of day glaring on error
On fault and imperfection
Now, the universe is indifferent
As it has always been
Find solace
