Poem: Rose City Winter Blues

Black cat runs across the slushy brown street
Framed on white snow and fast little feet
The clouds now obscure the blue of the day
And only subside a bridge that’s gone gray
Rushing car that races is white and black
With red and blue lights that make a track
I’m smoking and bundled in army green
Contemplate orange ember that emits smokescreen
Purple and silver go on passing by
White pasty faces on phones as they fly
All of these colours this winter subdues
On a cold day with Rose City Winter Blues
