Poem: Twilight of the Gods

The glories of light now shall fill the skies
Though this light now slowly fades
The beauty and strength within my eyes
Drawn further into the darkest shades
Our armour no longer shines anew
The chinks betray the rust
Our fate is sealed with the morning dew
As hearts and bodies become like rust
Softer now does this light die
As it sets down upon the hours
No chorus for us sings on high
Our graves not marked with flowers
Only tales of deeds remain for others now to tell
The twilight of the gods has broken this ethereal spell
