Poem: Silent Gray Feline

Silent gray feline
Silhouetted
Against the rain-slicked
Magenta night street
He now crosses
Stops momentarily
From his saunter
To look for the source
Of the noises I’ve made
To call him
The madness and fever
Of my comrades
Continue indoors
While the cat
Goes unnoticed
Except
By me
