Poem: Pretty Girls Don’t Walk on the Shaded Side of the Street

image

Pretty girls don’t walk
On the shaded side of the street
Earbuds clearly plugged in
To the marching of their feet
Big black sunglasses
Long and flowing hair
Off to do their deeds
For the rest of the world, not care
Noses in the smartphone
Ignoring all that pass
Long legs keep on walking
Bright colours faintly glow
On skin so smooth and gracefully tattooed
Down the street, she goes
Pretty girls never walk
On the shaded side of the street
Just a passing person
Whom I shall never meet
